About Peepal Tree
Peepal Tree (also written as Pipal, Peepul and Pippala in English) is a tree found in the Indian sub-continent which has religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists. While Hindus believe that the Peepal tree is home to Lord Vishnu, it must be noted that Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment beneath a Bodhi tree. You would also find leave of Peepal in the worship of Lord Hanuman and Shani. Botanically speaking, it belongs to the the Moraceae, the fig or mulberry family of trees and are known to grow anywhere without much human intervention, seeding or watering.
